8/03/05 check number 1057 $71

I never recieved the invoice I was promised showing my prorated rent increase for the portion of February that I lived in my current apartment. So I went into the office to ask what they had decided concerning that. The looked at me like I was from Mars and asked me for $50 and I said "ok, but can you tell me why I owe you $50?" and then I gave up on getting an explanation so what I wanted to do was the following in brackets [so I said "so that is $453 +$50 +(3x5)+ X=<3?" ]and I tried to catch my breath and calm my mind and determine how to say it, and I said about the rent and I said about the 3 dollar payments and I said about the 50 dollars and they said "no just $50" and I said "but why is it $50" and I tried to explain about moving and believing I had payed up to august not to september and that I owed rent for august and the $3 dollar rent increases and the prorated February and they just looked at me like I was making them think and please go away and then they started to talk amongst themselves and to me it seemed hostile so I made them a check for $50 + $3 X 7 and I asked them to please check their books because I was sure I owed rent for that month, and although I conceeded to them that I could have made an over payment by accident, their request for an unexplained $50 didnt give me confidence that their books were correct. And I never was contacted about them regarding this matter again. And when they contacted me about discrepancies in their records of my payments, they refused to listen to me when I emphasised that the descrepancy was probably due to this incident.
