The Benifits Of A Home

The reason I chose not to persue a PhD was basically not having a home. Yes I was renting an apartment, but I was unable to control other people's access to it. I had already lost all of my previous work when someone entered my apartment while I was in the bath and tampered with or took my hard drive and forgot to completly close the tower case when he hastily left. I was able to get things fixed and complete my subsequent paper which I posted below. Luckily I store my notes in my head, but if the same thing had happend to my dissertation, it would have been harder to tap it all out again before the next morning with the rough draft was due, after a car accident, repairs, reloading my programs and general headaches.
You can say I have a home because I have an address and some property, but if I dont control access, it is not much different from living on the street. The temperature is a little different, though I dont have a working thermostat on the heater, and I cant control the noise entering my room. Even the man renting to me doesnt respect that I pay him to live here.
I knew that the level of work expected of me during another four year degree would have been physically harmful to me in my homeless state.
