Mom and Dad explained that their titles were Mom and Dad and that Dad didnt mind being called Mom because when he was a kid Dad wasnt a word there was only Mom and Mom was important. They explained that my title was Big Sibling but that the kids werent good enough to be watched by siblings, as they hadnt learned enough manners yet.
There are lots of Siblings out there and they have given this speech a few times. Some of the eaves droppers have wondered why they didnt recieve this speech or one similar to it (mine had the variation where they said not only do they call us mom and dad but we are actually your mom and dad, and some people got the variation we know your mom and dad but you cant look for them now we will be mom and dad for you until things change, and others your mom and dad are distracted you are better off either hanging around unless you have a better raport with someone else) but they have to prove that they can change their frame of mind, so if they have only ever seen you in one frame of mind maybe you should try to stimulate other frames of mind, but for me this is something I learned as a child so I dont know where to begin to tell you to start.
