If someone were to make an inclusive map of all the pockets of recognizably similar cultures identified with the Himalayan region it would look like a few hundred tidal pools left behind after a tsunami. I suppose that is a kind of disaster, but Dad tried to warn everyone before he left Japan. Actually about Japan. Dad ruled the whole of old China from there, the other kingdoms were subordinent to his rule but independent to specialize and meet their own needs. What is amazing about Dad is that he may be the one and only case anyone knows of where a person in such a state managed to succeed at getting a replacement set within the 7 years he had to do so before the damage became permanent, which is how he wound up in Persia, though when the Persians were through with him they killed him which is probably why Mom didn't recognize him, though she had also changed dresses since they last met.
Anyway so it was less than 200 years after Dad left that the things he predicted came to pass. One of the people who had been there before wanted to reassert dominance over the region and people from outside noticed a resistance when they tried to pass through supposedly unregulated territory. The ones most participatory in the things that brought this on were annihilated or changed and the individuals least involved were overlooked and pooled up in little isolate pockets spread out over thousands of miles of mountains.
*Dad ruled as a priest in those days, and there was an avoidance of all vocabulary concerning law and rule. The people who were displaced by this had laws and rules and when people made hypocritical actions within the system they were the first to come and say their word had been broken and people tried to call them ignorant to these things and Dad eventually had to take their side though he knew things were getting conceptual enough at that point that doing so would cause more issues than it resolved. The point was that people didn't want an army or wars or a government. They didn't want to spend resources on a military or pay any taxes and this is what Dad was able to come up with. It worked pretty well for a while but he was borrowing from the system of Jesus which only works because its global and Abu Abraham killed the space aliens, and just to be on the safe side Jesus's government will make martial arts a national pass time in case Abu Abraham missed a spot*
