I noticed in my travels through (yes for real asshole) foster care, homeless shelters, different kinds of clinical and post clinical settings that a lie is not something that isnt true, it is something that is true against someone you cant search.
So I told a few of those to Sally knowing exactly what her reaction was going to be and that that whole pattern of behavior was starting to not have the same impact on people as it used to as cases continued to come forward of children who had told the truth on their first report being threatened until they recanted, being branded liars and then being found years later to have been truthful but that was after the lobotomy had already been completed.
I hated those people so much that I didn't want them to quietly go away, but I wanted to bridge them into a time when they would seem not misguided but deliberately evil. This was because I knew technology was increasing faster than people could hide their proclivities and that they exhibited a lot of patterned behavior in common with eachother indicating a lot of things they hadn't been caught doing yet but cameras were already very small and in the darndest places even 8 years ago.
