There were a lot of ninjas among the various displaced Tibetan populations. But still, people had to eat, sleep, find places to be and this necessitated interactions with others, but without papers, identities, any kind of documented existence, many found they only had value among the old professions, usually involving slavery of some sort, and their ability to deal with the realities involved in behavioral modification as necessitated by the illegality and secrecy of the situations they found themselves working in.
Donny wasn't the only one with a job that people who have little room to talk might find dubious, and though her role was rather direct, it was less instrumental than the little things most people know are wrong that they overlook every work day and at every weekend event. But these aren't half as bad as the institutional things people routinely justify because of a skewed sense of lesser evil.
Because Donny was the one to explain the situation to the authorities, from what I can see she alone has born all the social blame, but though she benefited the least from the opportunities she established for others, others in turn valued her more greatly than they valued any of the others.
Because of the dangers associated with idle talk we are taking a multi faceted approach to these and other related issues. The first avenue of remediation being speech control and increasing consequences for speaking of certain things regarding certain people that are designed to make people understand that they need to really consider who they bring up and dont bring up because we have noticed a pattern that is more than disturbing, and those who are truly causing this situation get no backlash or tounglash at all. The second is to help individuals of a wider degree of participation understand exactly how their choices and actions effect the lives of real people, and how they contribute to the situations they find so easy to speak against. Whether law makers or business owners pick up the threads to weave policy is beyond our control, but its a small thing to increase public awareness in a directly sensual way.
