We all have differing degrees of patience for people to throw themselves off the tracks. People have different reasons for why they don't want to be satisfied with what Allah makes plain to them. I was thinking of making a post about hair covering since Allah told me to do that directly, but then I started thinking about sleeve length and pant length and I realized he didn't make any of that specific. He did say things like "if you are thinking of wearing abaya without a hair covering its better to wear a hair covering and anything else" The Quran says women should cover their bosoms, and he also said that though some people are more right than wrong about suggested dress he was only going to hold me accountable for hair, and he might hold others acountable for more, but that the people I told about haircovering were to be acountable for it unless he told them something else specifically. Some people are going to look at that and see a very complicated rule because they are trying to understand Allah, others will see a simple rule, cover the hair (so it doesn't look like hair, he mentioned that too).
So about that sleeve length, there are parts of a woman that look vulnerable, the upper arms and thighs being the ones most often left uncovered. Other Brother says covering to the elbow avoids trouble from his hunters, along with hair cover, and also covering the knee. I suggest that pants and skirts (because off the rack makes things difficult for tall women) be at mid point between knee and ankle or lower if possible, and its not always possible, but that it isn't necessary to buy specialty clothing as this creates more problems than it solves.
But the only thing you can be sure of is that covering the hair will allow people not to sell you drugs or buy your services as a prostitute and allow women who don't want offers to be left alone and that is all we are trying to do here.
People who want to add more to this, are always looking for a way to one up eachother in religeosity will dream up a lot more rules, will look so deeply into people that even a master hypnotist is in danger of having her diet discovered, and though she's clearly a person of the fitra, people want to add rules to that too. But anyway the only way people discover the error of these paths is on their own and unless you are hunting you are wasting your time.
