I can't recall right now the precise word I heard on the radio about Robert Mugabe's speech, but having heard a part of it myself, I think what is most disturbing about it is that after all these years the Europeans have put no scholarly effort into validating how Africans use language, in terms of the way that the morphemes are recombined in a way that is really very consistent.
He sounded entirely lucid to me. But they are probably already joking about that somewhere in Brussels.
