Manpower issues

One reason high technology and biotech is fizzling in Indiana is rental laws. When I told my students in Europe what was happening with my landlord they were shocked. They were sure I didnt know the law and I was worrying about nothing. Now they are refusing to work in this state without new rental laws. What will happen is either they get those laws, or those who block them from getting them will lose their jobs and stop being relevant then they will get those laws.
In the mean time I am moving to a neigborhood with more diverse people in it. I am always discribing the conditions on the ground to my students. One thing they are very interested in is enfranchising american black people among other minorities. I was told of a few issues in the past by blacks to bring up with employers if I ever found myself consulted on this issue but I want to understand better how to fine tune it and make things go as well as possible from the very beginning.
No matter how it goes, as long as I dont die or lose a limb things will continue in negotiation. I sincerely doubt that will happen, but currently I am recieving death threats from people in my current neighborhood which is why they got froze out. So dont worry any more than we all will by habit, if the worst happens we wont give up.
