My Dad's dad isnt on the earth. In order for him to intervene with me, he has to be alive, but if he were anywhere on the earth we'd have found him by now. The people Dad barely remembers as his first family werent. They adopted him or something like that after the adults of Dad's people flew off with the descendants of the first people with wings and the kids were left behind. Aparently it was on one of their trips back trying to fix the fact that they had not taken all the people they needed for a complete existance the first time they left. They've made several such trips back here and other places.
When Dad killed the snake monster thing he also managed to decimate the people who had kept him in slavery for an unknown period of time. And before he had much time to think about it people the winged people didnt take of the same people as his father met up with him. For a while they were all licking various wounds being divided and moved around, but in time they got settled in and very comfortable. When Dad started to realize that he was guiding a people intended to take over the whole world the rest of the people were too cozy to listen. He understood that we all came from the same source and that he could find common ground with other people so he decided to go off on his own but they had a method of taking his memory away, as they were afraid he might talk about their nice little society and cause more people to come looking for them.
Eventually he got a lot of his memory back but not before he could see what not remembering was causing him to do.
When he realized that the people left behind there were most like him for the time being and would be needed to complete cultivation projects aimed towards making more people who could relate to him down the road he aimed some other projects at making the old camp less sweet. One of these things was in the way he reengerered Budhism. When he met up with muslims he observed that those who made their slaves muslim were opressing muslims who were sincere so he resolved that he would only teach islam to free people and people who tried to enslave him and thus required him to enslave them would be taught something else. So all around were statues and shrines to a religion that had died out several hundred years earlier, because its true followers did not reproduce and they failed to attract people away from their families in sufficient numbers to keep alive. It was a practice that no one could do by themselves in their entierty and which was under assault from reality and the basic human need structure. It was a means of keeping people from feeling secure unless they followed time consuming rituals, often expensive to support that caused them to tax themselves and their surroundings for the means to feel like they were doing the right thing. But it also allowed for thought and introspection and allowed that anyone who sincerely followed the directions would see the exit sign and if they were brave enough to deal with Allah and his creation, they could pass through it and become a functioning member of society. But he also did it in such a way that less sincere people would be able to see the similarities between the resurected practices and shinto so that they would know when they realized they were trapped and enslaved who to send revenge at, and so the practices were also designed to take away all the right beliefs that were keeping things cozy and comfy while constantly pointing at or hinting at the other right beliefs that didnt have such immediate rewards and were harder to embrace.
Of cource not all followed that path. Some tried to fix and restore the zombie religion so that it was closer to what had originally been intended, but that was impossible since there were no living chains back to that origin. So they made paths that were inescapble despite introspection, and invented new forms of insanity.
