I think the Fujiwaras deliberately arrange things so one generation cant stand the next and while one princess was able to have no knowledge of my existence at all until after she became empress, others aren't so lucky.
Though I know the score well enough, I always give people a bonus if they can wait until they have a rank that hasn't been separated in all ways from any right to contact my family and if that bonus isn't warranted, I don't know how they will ever be shed of their burdens, but I wont be involved.
